About Ian Mcnerney
Software Developer:I went to SPC in 2022 with the goal of gaining certification and an Associates Degree in computer programming, and by May of 2024 I should be able to start an internship and subsequently finish my time at SPC. I have maintained a 3.95 GPA with this curriculum and have taken on a significant amount of independent research in C++ programming.Music Educator:I started my music education journey early on when I attended SPC for the Music Industry and Recording Arts program starting in 2018. During this time I took it upon myself to teach private drum and guitar lessons, since I had been formally educated in both instruments for nearly a decade and had plenty of experience tutoring in High School just prior. When the pandemic shut-down happened I was forced to leave SPC and double down on my work at guitar center, where I stayed as a manager for 2 years. During this time I found myself applying to School of Rock so that I could begin teaching more students, as private lessons were difficult to find clientele for. I have been working at School of Rock for 3 years now, and plan to remain a music educator for as long as I can.
