Ian is the Client group CIO for Capital Group / American Fund, based in Los Angeles. As a strategic technology leader, Ian believes that value is created through the alignment of the technology and business agendas, and of developing high-performance technology partnerships. During his time at Capital Group Ian has established a global agile-based delivery model and led the development of a multi-year strategic technology roadmap for Sales, Marketing Distribution, and Service.Prior to Capital Group, Ian led Buy-Side Enterprise Products at Bloomberg where he had responsibility for the product and commercial success of the Order Management and Portfolio Analytics toolsets. Working across sales, product, and engineering, Ian led the development of a new Buy-Side Enterprise strategy, that leveraged the power of Bloomberg's portfolio analytics and data, and put them at the core of the Portfolio Management lifecycle in ways that set Bloomberg apart, and that streamlined investment workflows and the overall investment process.Before Bloomberg, Ian was the CTO at Neuberger Berman, where he led the introduction of a new Global fixed-income operating platform, and led Trading Technology at Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund. He also spent over 12 years at JPMorgan in a variety of technology roles in both New York, London, and Paris. Ian is a versatile leader who combines experience across a variety of roles, and business environments, with strong project and organizational discipline, a hands-on approach, and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
