Ian Pettit has a unique combination of experience in Education and Business. In Business, Ian has skills and experience in Public Relations, HR Management and Alumni Coordination. He has a strong interest in fundraising and sales and has held marketing positions with Japan Travel Bureau (JTB) where he developed the educational tours sector, leading several marketing missions to Japan. In HRM Ian was a successful State Manager for EAP providers in NSW/ACT gaining Sales Awards to New Zealand and the USA. Ian’s career in Education began in the East End of London, and since that time he has held positions in the Tertiary, Secondary and Primary sectors in Australia. He has been a Careers Advisor, Teacher and Alumni Coordinator at St Francis College was awarded a NSW Premier’s Scholarship to the USA to study relationships between Education and Work. Ian was also the Head of the English faculty at St Francis de Sales Regional College. He was nominated for an Australia Day Award for his work against Domestic Violence, for the development of a Regional Men’s Choir to help combat depression and for his project management of events providing funds for charity groups such as CANASSIST. Ian was also a volunteer English teacher for refugees from Afghanistan. Ian was a successful recipient of a Premier’s ABN AMRO Business Studies, Economics Scholarship to the United States and was a grant winner from the NSW Environmental Trust (Minister for the Environment). He enjoys competing in triathlons and is married with three adolescent sons.
