Led the planning and execution of service and sales strategies to the publishing sector; Managed a portfolio of blue chip media client accounts; Tailored core DHL services into high value, scalable service propositions for today’s fulfillment industry needs and beyond. Established and deployed the operational work flow for the companies’ new Hybrid Mail service product; project managed the first client implementation Designed and built a commercial platform Quote and Re-charge tool for Hybrid Mail services: o Planned and authored a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Hybrid Mail to interface with DHL, the 3rd party printer and the customer.o Project led to the retention of a £100k account. Designed and implemented a new commercial Bulk Mail pricing application based on client needs analysis Assessed long-term requirements;:o Identified key cost values and drivers within the supply chain and designed the modelo Launched the new standard volumetric rate; Recognized as a key contributor retaining business that would otherwise have been lost. Developed, sold and implemented a flexible and measurable operational E-fulfilment Pick and Pack Operation which optimized DHL capacity and met customer service level requirements.

Managed the post press distribution and fulfillment supply chain through a large network of 3rd party mail and fulfillment suppliers – on time and on budget. Seconded to Head Office to manage the strategic review and restructuring of postal costs and services used across the corporate group.  Analysed bulk mail requirements, devised an alternative to maximize buying power and accelerate profitability; managed the tender process to evaluate and select new service providers:o Smashed my original annual savings target of £350k by reaching £1.5m by year end; 60% of proposals experienced improved service levels.o Pioneered a ground breaking 3rd party service which became an industry wide standard; Delivered £750k direct year-on-year savings.  Spearheaded the restructuring of complex Middle Eastern distribution contracts to include stringent KPI measures and robust non-compliance penalty clauses; Liaised with key stakeholders to successfully re-negotiate key expiring contracts. Sourced and employed a supplier to take responsibility for revenue collection and reporting sales figures from middle eastern distributors ; resulted in reducing bad debt from 25% to 0% and reducing supplier payments from +120 days to -60 days

Consolidation of all subscription distribution activity for Emap Consumer Magazines Achieved savings of £100k+ for 3 years running by renegotiating contracts and rates with outsourced mailing houses and printers, and a more cost effective use of postal services. Reduced costs by 50% and achieved total control over packaging to give marketing teams new platforms to promote their magazine brand.  Devised and managed a new stock management system to measure supplier performance and provide visibility of stock levels.  Directed the RFQ and negotiation process for key polythene manufacturers to meet profitability and service level requirements.
