Becoming a manager for the first time in my career was something special. Knowing that the satisfaction of your guests, the teamwork of your employees, and the well being of the establishment and brand you have been asked to protect is in your hands will add a layer of confidence to you. The role has blended my previous experiences in the restaurant business (bartending, serving, bussing, hosting) with my college and internship experiences (leading group projects at BW and corporate communication at MTD). This has given me the unique opportunity to use different experiences from my past in order to succeed. I love being a team leader, but more importantly I love being a part of this team. The Rail has a great future as an Ohio brand.

Serving at Red Robin has taught me to be quick, physically and mentally. The always busy burger joint has trained me to make smart decisions instantly, multi-task fluently, and ensure customer satisfaction on all levels. But the skill that I am most thankful for learning is how to be sociable and interactive with the guests, who range from all types. This specific corporation also is very evaluative of the servers' ability to sell (appetizers, drinks, membership cards, etc.) and will base most of the servers' reviews on it. The success of an evening restaurant shift will depend on the cooperation of all the positions, and the application of team work and constant communication. I'm thankful of all the skills this position has taught me during my high school and college years.

At MTD Products, I worked two different internships: one with the Product Marketing team and one with the Brand Marketing team. This gave me an efficient and unique experience in the world of Corporate Marketing. In the summer, I completed projects, conducted research, and created presentations that involved consumer and product feedback that would assist the Product Marketing team in their decisions on what their consumer market really wants from the outdoor equipment industry. When Fall arrived, I was recommended to intern with the Brand Marketing team. This involved digital marketing, social media monitoring, product advertisement, and customer satisfaction and feedback. The whole experience was unique to me because I was able to be a part of the team that analyzes the market and decides what to produce, then be a part of the team that advertises it, and makes sure customers are satisfied. At MTD, I was able to experience how a market-leading corporate company operates on a daily basis. I learned how to communicate efficiently, plan and conduct meetings, and also organized events on behalf of the company that acquired user feedback on new products. I also monitored the social media accounts of Troy-Bilt and Cub Cadet through various platforms including Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube.

Initially a Film Production major when I started Baldwin Wallace in high school (through Post-Secondary Education) I learned the concepts of communication (through film and media) and other major requirement classes taught me communication through music theory and computer graphic designing. As an artist, these classes were plenty interesting and satisfying, though I decided to make a change. I shifted to be a double major in Business Administration and Marketing. I absolutely love all the aspects of business from Economics to Accounting, and from Sales to Project Management. Marketing was my favorite though, so I decided to take more interest in that subject as it could ring out my knowledge in both business and creative communication.
