• Conduct Plan Reviews for new food establishments, facilities that are remodeling, and those that have changed ownership. Review floor plans, equipment schedules, menus, labeling, and standard operating procedures. Provide feedback on required revisions, perform inspections (punch list, opening, and routine), and issue health permits. • Lead foodborne illness outbreak investigations. • Provide technical training and instruction to In-Training staff. • Conduct risk-based sanitary inspections of retail food establishments (i.e., restaurants, mobile food establishments, schools, daycares, nursing homes, fraternities, sororities, grocery stores, concession stands, food pantries, and temporary food vendors). Compose detailed reports which accurately describe the violations observed during inspections and their required corrections. • Educate operators on HACCP principles and assist them with operational changes to best improve the food safety standards within their facilities.• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business owners & managers, plumbing inspectors, contractors, professional and trade groups, and the public.
