I was made Product Development Manager in 2016. The challenge was to turn our plans into reality.I still retained Business Development Manager role also so responsible for all sales of our line of products.* I was project manager for a complete re-design of the product's metalwork and presentation and branding as a differentiator against our competition and to facilitate our users.* Project manager for a unique high energy test facility using state of the art power electronics.* Project manager for a new electronic device - an addition to our product line and a novel step as we had no electronics experience in house apart from myself.All projects have been completed successfully, In all cases I had to consider the VOC, build business cases, convince stakeholders in other departments to support us, deliver the plan on time and on budget and to avoid mission creep.That is only half of the challenge - the other half is to evangelise for the new designs around the world, convincing our extremely risk averse users of the value of our new products, test procedures and modern asset management techniques. This has been tough but we now have bids out and trials planned with several very major users.

My responsibility was the supply of protection equipment to the largest power stations in the world. My first major challenge was to understand our market and users and I met with our users in more than 20 countries in an effort to understand their needs and their view of our products. Our largest end user is the 3 Gorges Corporation China and I had to deal at a director level with their technical branch. Also involved in key account management of some of the world's largest electrical/electronics corporations who integrated our products, examples Siemens, GE, Alstom, ABB. In that time we also saw challenges from copy-cat competitors attempting to have a low cost of entry into a new market for them. I refused to chase to the bottom on price but instead we improved and re-designed our products, increased our total offering and most importantly differentiated ourselves from our competition with the results that we have effectively driven them off and out of our key accounts and a re winning back both new business and lost accounts.

In charge of the northern UK business unit. Codra provides the Panorama range of industrial SCADA and industrial information system software products primarily aimed at large critical infrastructure projects. Panorama is installed on all French nuclear plants, London Underground and many tram and underground systems around the world.

Directed commercial and technical departments of a mobile data company focused on industrial data collection and distribution.

We distributed and configured some of the first PC based SCADA systems including Onspec and iFix. Also MMIs and industrial PCs and displays. Integration of real time systems into SQL databases was our speciality
