www.ianschere.comDr. Ian Schere is a clinical psychologist and university professor who has been providing clinical and consultation services throughout San Diego for the past fifteen years. He divides his time between private practice, teaching, and clinical consultation for mental health organizations. The emphasis of his work is with children and adolescents with behavioral or emotional difficulties, and trauma. Dr. Schere spends much of his time as Clinical Supervisor for Casa de Amparo's Residential Services program and Hayward Child Development Center . In this capacity Dr. Schere provides clinical oversight, supervision to program therapists, staff training, crisis intervention, group therapy, and specialized therapeutic services, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy & Motivational Interviewing, to the clients and their families.Dr. Schere is also a faculty lecturer at San Diego State University's School of Social Work, where he teaches Lifespan Development and at Alliant International University where he teaches Introduction to Psychotherapy to first year doctoral students, and seminar in Supervision & Consultation to advanced doctoral students. He is currently the chairman for the San Diego Psychological Association's Supervision Committee.Dr. Schere is certified by PCIT International at a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist and level 1 trainer, and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
