I am responsible for the management of components and materials for the production of the JCB Fastrac tractor and Wheel Loader ranges. I oversee the operational aspects of material supply to support the manufacture of machines across four production lines. Initially this was focused on the site logistics, component storage and feeding, overseeing a team of 14 staff. I have now refocused on the supply change management and material planning, overseeing a team of nine material planners.

I manage a wide verity of accounts within the JCB supply chain around the globe. Many of which have long production lead times and supply critical parts such as engines, chassis, electronics, transmissions and axles for three production lines and two business units.My core responsibilities are to ensure that materials are supplied to the business in a timely manner, in such a way that production in not affected to minimise down time whilst ensuring stock is kept to a minimum. I look to reduce associated storage, handling, transport and procurement costs; whilst holding appropriate stock levels to ensure no undue health and safety issues whilst maximising production efficiencies. This is done in line with a flexible build program across three production lines, a wide verity of individual products and a vast catalogue of component options. In addition to my core duties noted above, I also use my operational experience and knowledge to continually improve the materials department for Earthmovers and Landpower; as well as working with a third party stakeholder who operate JCB World Logistics Centre as well as the transport network which supports operations across the group. This work has focused on returnable packaging and stillage’s; particularly ensuring that the packaging in place meet the operational requirements of the business and reduces operational costs. I have also devised and implemented critical internal communication and escalation platforms and processes to ensure that problems can be solved quickly and effectively with measures put in place to ensure proactive management moving forwards. In addition to my work with the wider materials team on site, I have also worked at JCB World Logistics Centre with the team to identify improvements in materials handling and storage and helped guide the implementation of relevant safeguards to improve operational processes via regular communication and meetings and established customer service portal.

Having played a central role in the development and implementation of a new and innovative operating model for the Duke of Edinburgh Staffordshire Approved Operating License, I know advise and direct the delivery of the license in the Staffordshire on behalf of Entrust, care of the county council. I developed a new service level agreement and terms of the contracts to shape the future of Duke of Edinburgh provision within the county.

As Operations Manager I was responsible for the management of the companies staff, vehicles, equipment and centres. I had five non residential outdoor centres to coordinate, each with their own centre manager and various sized staff teams. These centres included an indoor climbing centre and four watersports centres with a range of different on and off site activities. I managed the company resources in three different business area's, outdoor activities, Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Education. I was heavily involved in program design, activity management, product creation, modelling and costing. A key aspect of my role is ensuring that the program's we design, meet and exceed the clients expectations when they are delivered. I was a member of the business steering committee and senior management team, responsible for making key strategic decisions and deciding business direction and vision.

In addition to my role as Operations Manager, I am also an event manager for Peak Pursuits; this includes organizing events such as open days, fun days, parties, challenge days directly relating to Tittesworth Water; as well as organizing larger events such as the British Gas Adventure Challenge 2010, as well as the Duke of Edinburgh Challenge 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. These events are specialist adventure challenges, designed to test participants with the ultimate goal of raising funds for the client we work with. When organizing such events I have been solely responsible for every aspect of the challenges success.

I was the centre manager for Peak Pursuits at Tittesworth Water, the centre had a lot of people through it, from many different groups; therefore there was a large staff team on a daily basis, I managed these staff and the centre ensuring safety, quality of service, operational efficiency and esthetics. I also managed the centre at a tactical level, working closely with the marketing, financial and operations departments. within the company, to ensure its success.
