A subsidiary of Tomkins Plc. who manufacture an extensive range of cast iron industrial and heating/ventilation valves.- Managing of a production engineering department responsible for:- Project management of new components into manufacture, liaising with engineering design production purchasing and quality departments (SPC Sigma 3)- Plan, generate manufacturing schedules ensuring customers due dates are achieved- Identify areas for improvement, evaluate justify and manage new capital equipment projects and processes to ensure optimum utilisation and efficiencies are maintained- Control of financial capital. And revenue budgets (£1m) within the manufacturing environment- To revise, design and implement machine shop layouts into cellular form- Liaise with internal departments and outside contractors/suppliers to ensure all aspects of the projects from the initial concept to completion achieved within tight deadlines- Facilitate with teams from different disciplines; too enable others to take part in a total quality process, by equipping them with the necessary tools and techniques to help identify ways in which they can apply their skills and knowledge to make improvements- Work within a MRP environment- Product cost reduction through value engineering- Problem identification and solving- Introduction of lean manufacturing principles (SMED, KAIZAN, KANBAN)
