My journalism pursuits date to the late 1980s, when I penned entertainment features for my college paper, Albany Student Press. Post-college, I moved into PR, and wrote on the side. In 1997, my wife warned we'd wind up divorced if I continued to juggle PR and writing -- as I was working 9-5 at PR and 5-9 at writing. It was time to freelance full-time. I've done so ever since, covering movies, TV, music and Broadway for many outlets, and having a flexible-enough schedule to enjoy time with my wife (same wife!) and attend most of my son's baseball/football games and my daughter's volleyball matches. Outlets to which I've contributed: New York Times Syndicate, Bergen Record, SCI FI Magazine, SciFi.com, (201) Magazine, People, Reader's Digest, TV Guide, and licensed magazines devoted to Star Trek and The Walking Dead. I served, from May 2010-May 2019, as editor of StarTrek.com, the official Trek site, which involved writing interviews, bios, new product stories, assigning, editing, etc. I'm still involved as a copy editor and writer. Along the way, I've earned the respect of my editors and developed strong relationships with publicists. I've also moderated celebrity panels with audiences of up to 6,000 people.
