Dubai International Airport is the worlds largest airport by international passenger traffic and continues to experience a period of rapid business change. I was responsible for Project Recovery and on-going Project Management using a hybrid Prince2/Agile methodology for their collection of both in-flight and new IT Infrastructure Transformation Projects. The customer was acutely aware of the impact that technical change will deliver to its business and service users and demanded a project team led by a seasoned technical first professional that was able to deliver against these critical requirements with demanding timescales.Known as the ‘go-to end-to-end delivery manager’ for projects where a square peg needed to fit a round hole and getting challenging projects over the line - I was constantly focused on managing business and user expectations, managing third party vendors and delivery consultants to deliver on time projects within budget. Initially engaged for a twelve month project, I ultimately held responsibility for almost 20 projects delivering over 500 features in a largely agile environment in the 6 years I was working with Dubai Airports with a total budget responsibility of approximately 95m AED (£20m) Projects included:IT Infrastructure Transformation and Data Centre core systems replacement from a 12 rack on-premises vBlock private cloud solution from VCE to a true cloud virtualised infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services for a baggage handling system broken into 18 sprints and over 300 product features. Overall project team size was 24 Design & Implementation of a secondary Business Continuity location - 100 product features.Role out of an enhanced Passenger Information platformA highly sensitive passenger profiling project - working with non-technical business stakeholders and other colleagues.Windows 7-10 Scripted Desktop Deployment for 3000 seats.
