MediaRiver Action Uk Oct 2023 - PresentRiver Action is on a mission to rescue Britain’s rivers. We bring awareness to the crisis facing our rivers, and the failure of Government funded environmental agencies to address this.We are independent. We don’t accept money from the government, the water companies, agricultural polluters or any other corporate body. We are beholden to no-one, and that means we always hold the polluters and the regulators accountable for their failure to protect our rivers and waterways. We use the law to prosecute illegal regulatory and business practice that causes river pollution. We lobby for change, mobilise the public, and raise awareness through the media. -

Media Consultant: Covid-19Who Regional Office For Europe Jul 2021 - Oct 2022Part of a three-person media team responsible for shaping the narrative related to COVID-19 in the 53-member state WHO European Region. This extremely fast-paced role involved responding to media inquiries, drafting media lines, talking points and briefing expert health officials for interviews with the world’s media.A punctilious grasp of detail was essential to ensure that the public received trusted, timely and evidence-based public health messaging from the UN's health organization. The team supported Member States vis-a-vis media liaison on issues related to the COVID-19 vaccination program, the local epidemiological context, lockdowns, new variants of concern (Omicron etc) and much more.We supported press conferences, developed press releases as well as fact-sheets and sought new ways to proactively reach out to key media across Europe and Central Asia. The team looked for disinformation and misinformation 'signals’ in the media related to COVID-19 and other health emergencies. In response we'd propose immediate and relevant media/social media engagement.During my time with WHO/Europe I dealt with more than 600 media inquiries, which involved everything from setting up interviews, drafting written responses/quotes, talking points and coaching world-renowned health experts ahead of media appearances.
