Skilled in a range of areas, both hard (technical) and soft (community development/facilitation/people management).Diverse background including professional audio (way back when it was all analogue!), social welfare including family casework, rural community development, photography (can still smell fixer on my fingers), video production, professional writing, project design and facilitation and more. Very experienced in professional writing - tenders, submissions, evaluations etc. Have the ability to undertake organisational and situational analysis and prepare high quality reports. Ran my own small company for several years and have worked with all levels of government providing those services.Set up and ran a small statewide organisation for several years in Victoria, funded by gov't, focused on addressing the needs of, and opportunities for, young people in small rural communities.All these experiences coalesced when I entered the Higher Ed domain over twenty years ago. While I have had straight technical roles I found my niche working in learning and teaching where the emphasis is on demystifying tech and enabling users. I'm very much of the mindset that the focus on technology should be as an enabler rather than as the master.Took the opportunity to step back when universities were shedding staff owing to Covid impacts.Now working on part-time basis with All the Ducks Pty Ltd as Project/Implementation Manager and generally contributing to company development. Great team there and very exciting times.
