My primary interests have been linguistics and economics as well as leading and teaching others. Some work I’ve done with linguistics have been:I've worked on the Bellevue School District's Spanish Dual Language Advisory Council. There, I was able to...- Restructure the 10th grade Spanish class- Suggest new elective classes- Create a new mentorship program between Newport High School and Puesta del Sol elementary.Additionally, as a coach for Tyee Speech and Debate Club, I was able to coach 60+ kids and have them reach the highest level of debate. This year, we won both middle school tournaments in our area. My personal experiences in Speech and Debate include winning 1st place in Washington State. Additionally, I have qualified for DECA's International Career & Development Conference; the highest level of competition. DECA is a club aimed at teaching high schoolers entrepreneurship, finance, and other key business topics to high schoolers.Finally, I am also the Vice President of the DECA club at our school. Our chapter currently consists of over 230 members, the biggest club at my high school.
