My consultancy company provides various services to a handful of select clients. Services that I provide:• CTO as a Service - assisting companies doing audits and assisting existing development and product teams to optimize and streamline their operation and plan for the future• Sports Betting Technology - I assist various companies in choosing platforms, rolling out, supporting, updating and understanding the ever-evolving sphere that is iGaming.• Sports Betting Compliance – Assisting companies with the legislative requirements of various Gambling Boards and assisting getting software licensed and approved.• Infrastructure Consulting – assisting companies with understanding their systems requirements and the implementing of robust systems that are scalable and have high availability.• Development – Custom software development for smaller projects, or managing outsourced teams on behalf of clients.

My role at NTVIS involved me managing the drafting and approvals of all IT policies and procedures, budgets and processes required. I was responsible for drafting all required RFPs and managing the process of awarding, setting up and working with the awarded providers.I was also responsible for ensuring that all staff have the required tooling (both hardware and software), ensuring that the various partners to the project are being reported to and driving the availability of the information we require to make the project a success.

During my time at Social Code I was responsible for managing a team of people including designers, developers, SEO experts and server administrators. I had to ensure that all deadlines are being met and sufficient planning is done for future expansion. My daily tasks include; management of the teams, project planning, client liaison, development and various other tasks that all ensure that Social Code remains at the forefront of its service offerings.

While working at Prezence I was responsible for making sure that the entire development team where working as efficiently as possible. I was also responsible for the planning, implementation and development managing of each project for the entire project cycle. During my time at Prezence new processes where put in place that helped the development team achieve their target deadlines with fewer reported problems. I was integral in the introduction of the use of Open Source CMS’s that where used in various – very successful – client deployments. I was part of many projects including the first annual SA Comics Choice Awards (http://www.comicschoice.co.za) where I wrote the registration, vetting and judging systems. Other large sites that I worked on included: Ster-Kinekor.com, South African Music Awards, Weg / Go Magazine, EMI Music, Sony BMG, PSFA, Seventeen Magazine, Glenfiddich League and many more.

At Avusa Media I was integral in launching the multimedia portal (http://multimedia.timeslive.co.za) that brought The Times to the forefront of South African multimedia content. Subsequent to that I was highly involved in the relaunch of The Times as TimesLive and built the Multimedia, Blog and parts of the Mobile site.Another site I was involved in was the elections site (http://www.saelections.co.za) that has also seen The Times taking the lead in reporting Election news. The site aggregated news from various sources and used various algorithms to determine news trends related to the electionsI was also involved in numerous other projects including a consolidated Advertising platform, a community gadgets website and various other projects.

Opteq International specializes in WAN management, which incorporates bandwidth management and optimization for large corporate companies.My associated roles and responsibilities for Opteq International include leading the development team in various projects, including the development of web GUI’s for the various Opteq software packages which include utilizing a number of Web2.0 technologies such as AJAX to create a seamless integration between FreeBSD back ends and the web front end.Other responsibilities include overseeing the development team on various projects as well as monitoring KPA’s and KPI’s for the developers within my team. I was also appointed as the direct liaison for Opteq for various clients.

I was responsible for maintenance of a group of pharmacies IT network which included desktop support, server maintenance and network configuration. I was integral in setting up a network where information was shared between the pharmacies and all the pharmacies where migrated to a POS system.
