Success included:-• Established “vision and mission” for a business creating the strategic narrative for the necessary changes.• Delivered 32% reduction in the inhouse cost of production for the main product line within four months, with full engagement of the employees.• Designed and delivered a new "New Product Introduction" process that reduced waste and improved throughput.• Developed a plan to overcome the Cultural challenges of lack of ownership and team working.• Re-writing Quality management system documents to enable the organisation to operate efficiently and effectively and comply with its own procedures.• Coached and mentored managers to change their own behaviours and those of their reports• Established templates and routines for reviewing behaviours and benchmarking performance of both the individuals and the team.

Initially Responsible for the Operations, then MD for the Legal Entity. Responsible for all aspects of the business: Sales and Marketing, R&D, Operations, HR and Financial. MD since July 2010.Key Areas of Responsibility / Success.• Developed an Identity for the Business, Vision and Mission and then Strategic plans for the business.• Portfolio Management Plans in place to reduce the dependence of the business on the more cyclical markets, and reduced Business Complexity.• Reduced RIDDOR reportable accident rate from average 3 per year, to one in period of 470 days• Developed virtually whole new Senior Management Team, as the previous Team retired within a 5 year time span• Grew the Business from circa £30M to £48M, with no change in absolute Inventory and only a 10% increase in Headcount• Record results for Profitability and ROCE, 40% improvement in inventory DoH• Re-engineered Business Processes for: Quotation, Contract Review and New Product Introduction• Applied Value Stream Mapping, and re-organised the Operational Areas.• Leadership and Management Development introduced to the company.• To date 67% of the workforce trained to NVQ lvl 2 in Business Improvement Techniques, making best use of Government Funding.

Member of the Board of Directors for Company sub contract design and manufacture of fabricated metal products. Responsible for all aspects of the Order Fulfilment process, from order entry, through supply chain, to transport and delivery, and securing payment. Turnover of £3.3M, with 72 people, purchasing spend of £1.0M. Customers range from Computer Cabinets, through Luxury Yachts and Wheelchair Manufacturers to Shop Fitting and Construction. Second Tier supplier to Dell, HP and IBM.Key Areas of Responsibility / Success.• Implemented Manufacturing and Supply Chain Strategies yielding £540k Cash for the business in 12 months.• Returned the business to Profitability after 4 consecutive years of losses• Introduced Business Measures for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.• Introduced Management processes for Safety Performance and Management of Attendance. Reduced accident rate by 50%, reduced absence days due to sickness from 3.5% to <2.0%• Improved Customer Quality from 10,500ppm to <800ppm• Improved Delivery performance on Key Accounts >98% on time.• Implemented semi-integrated IT system, including securing grant funding• Implemented Lean Manufacturing Strategy, utilising 20 keys approach• Introduced Advanced Quality Planning and 6 Sigma approaches• Reduced Indirect headcount by 46%
