Member of the national engineering team covering all sites across Australia and New Zealand, this role's key accountabilities include complete management of major projects (concept\​identification stage to implementation and operation), including ensuring all standards (safety, food safety, product specifications, financial) are achieved, inclusion of best practice features as well as ensuring site buy-in to the project and final acceptance. As the engineering team is a small team, much of the detail work requires management of external and internal consultants and suppliers. The national engineering team is also responsible for seeking input from all groups to develop and own the national strategic capital plan.

Member of the Queensland Senior Management team, reporting to the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Manager – Eastern States, this role was directly responsible for all maintenance and engineering activities on site. The state business had annual sales in excess of $500 million and 550 employees throughout Queensland. In 2000 the Company began the process of implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) and began influencing the culture of the site to improve conditions, ownership and business performance. During this period a significant portion of this role (and of all the leadership team) was consumed by facilitating the CI process on site. In addition, this role led the national effort to improve the maintenance performance and culture, to meet not only the larger business Continuous Improvement imperatives but also the site performance needs.

This role was directly responsible for investigation, development, approval and implementation of process improvement opportunities across Operations and Supply Chain. The role supported R&D and Marketing plans nationally and included a significant focus to ensure product specification and food safety attainment.

The Senior Marketing Officer reported to the Marketing Manager for Kaolin sales and was responsible for sales across Asia . Key outcomes included development of marketing group and individual performance measures and the local market strategies (short and long term). The role required establishing relationships with customers, learning and understanding their needs and then tailoring the product offer accordingly. The role not only had a marketing focus, it had a business focus and helped illuminate business performance drivers and business profitability. It thus had a whole of business focus. Nominated for this position in order to broaden my experience and gain a greater understanding of customer behaviour, practical skills in the management of sales, customer service, agents and to contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and strategic business plans.
