About Ian Baek

Dr. Ian Baek is the founder of Orgaid Inc. He received his PhD degree in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015. For the past eight years, Dr. Baek has been diligently applying himself to making new discoveries in biomaterials and nanoparticles while furthering his education in the discipline of materials science and engineering. His research has been specifically concerned with advanced active delivery of biomolecules into the human body for biomedical applications. Successful research in Dr. Baek’s field addresses how the basic materials from which objects are made can be improved for the enhancement of the device. Therefore, Dr. Baek’s research results have directly contributed to the improvement of medical techniques and public health. His research has resulted in over 15 papers in worldwide scientific journal articles and numerous conference papers. Based on his knowledge from previous research, he was inspired to combine cosmetics and biomaterial science, and finally established a start-up company, Orgaid, with the desire of helping people to have healthier skin and confidence in his unique formulations.
