Student Developer: Spent 6 weeks at 40+ hours a week learning iOS Development, then spent the next 6 weeks building a solo capstone project, as well as a group capstone project. Solo Project: Developed a restaurant search app called EATR. Used the Yelp! API with AlamoFire and Moya to allow users to type in a specific category of food they are craving and return a randomized list of results based on the user’s location, obtained by using CoreLocation. Users can then favorite a place and save when they last visited, as well as review anything they may have tried at that location. Used Firebase as a backend to store user info, favorites, etc. Currently in review for the App Store, project can be found on GitHub. Group Project: Developed a scavenger hunt app called Anchors Aweigh. Utilized Firebase as a backend to store user info. User’s can create and share scavenger hunts with friends, or participate in a scavenger hunt as a part of a team or an individual player. Scavenger hunts can be location based using CoreLocation and MapKit. Worked in a cross-functional team with UX/UI designers as well as iOS developers. Implemented low-fi mockups and moved to hi-fi when it was passed off to present an appealing and detailed user interface/experience. Currently in development. Project can be found on GitHub.
