I joined Steer in 2012. Key responsibilities include the following:TRAVEL BEHAVIOUR CHANGEFrom large scale PTP projects to online cycle challenges at workplaces I have skills in managing travel behaviour change programmes. I have managed PTP projects in Thurrock, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire managing teams to deliver travel advice to 35,000 targeted households. In these roles, I have delivered training to 40 Travel Advisors in Motivational Interviewing, a technique that aims to facilitate a commitment to change that comes from the individual.URBAN MOBILITYI have a keen interest in the urban mobility agenda, particularly understanding the impacts of shared mobility initiatives such as car clubs and bike hire. I am supporting Carplus to evaluate the impact of the Developing Car Clubs for England and Shared E-bikes programmes and am managing the Steer Davies Gleave contract to report on the Carplus Annual Survey of car club members for a fourth consecutive year.MONITORING AND EVALUATIONExperienced in the design, implementation and analysis of evaluation frameworks, for example collecting indicators to monitor project impacts, designing and analysing questionnaires, moderating focus groups and analysing stakeholder feedback.

Implementation and monitoring of the University Transport Strategy to reduce car use. Responsibilities include travel awareness and marketing campaigns, promoting and administering a student bike hire scheme and managing the allocation of car parking permits. Management of travel planning and smarter choices projects for public & private sector clients. Achievements Led a team of consultants, on behalf of NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan to set up activetravelwigan.co.uk, an innovative online personalised journey planning service and leaflet ordering system bespoke to Wigan borough. Wrote a successful bid that won a contract to set up a similar service for NHS Oldham. Achieved planning permissions and ensured planning condition compliancy for public and private sector clients through the development and implementation of robust travel plans for residential, workplace and healthcare sites.RATC works with commercial, government, NHS and voluntary organisations, specialising in sustainable travel, including travel plans and car clubs, and in community and accessible transport.

A 3 month temporary position as part of a year travelling in Australia. I prepared a travel plan for Arup’s Sydney office and organised the accompanying launch. Also designed and analysed an online travel survey for a major banking client.Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists.

Specialising in research to measure the impact of travel behaviour initiatives.Promoted from Consultant to Senior Consultant (2003) then Principal Consultant and Office Manager (2005). Responsible for managing a team of 10 staff. Developed reputation for sound project management amongst clients including Department for Transport and UK local authorities. For example, I managed the distribution, analysis and reporting of a large-scale postal travel survey for Devon County Council in 2001. I ensured the project was delivered to time and budget to the satisfaction of the client who then renewed the contract in 2006 and 2007. Successfully wrote bids for new work including £6.8 million bid for the PARTNER project, a European-Commission funded traveller information project in which I took the role of evaluation manager.TTR is a consultancy company specialising in the field of transport policy research. Most projects concern the links between transport and sustainable development or between transport and social inclusion.
