I have developed and continue to develop an eclectic skills mix and I am quick to identify, nurture and utilize talents in others.I believe at the top of an employer’s list are people who can communicate effectively, think critically and logically, show empathy and continue to learn throughout their lives. High on the list are people who can demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviours while showing responsibility and adaptability.I am an experienced teacher, head teacher (two schools), primary school consultant, cross-phase adviser and have been a playgroup manager. I have also spent a few years as a functional skills tutor with mature students. So you see I am an advocate of lifelong learning.I am also a Lay Minister.People are discontented with churches that are just offering them the same old answers or the same old liturgy. To me, that’s the greatest sense of hope there can possibly be, because people are hungry for more.I try to have a facilitative, enabling approach when supporting peers and a nurturing inspirational style to colleagues.I believe you are never too old to learn anything. There are opportunities everywhere. It is about planning your day, knowing you have certain things to do and fitting the learning around them in your free time. I am an old dog willing to learn new tricks. I'm not going to grow old - I'm going to turn into a valuable antique!Any business I work with must have integrity - doing what you say you will do, whether it is convenient or not, and whether or not circumstances have changed since you committed to do it.The moment you start believing you’re successful enough to rest on your laurels, you’re in trouble. You’ve put a lid on your growth! My recent project is working with a colleague promoting 'Magical Maths'. The only people who never fail are those who never try. So keep going, and don't even think about quitting!
