After graduating with a Graphic Print Tech diploma from Algonquin College, I spent a couple years working at various offset and digital print firms before settling into a career at the Standard-Freeholder in the pre-press department. The experience I gained at these jobs has been beyond beneficial in preparing me to run my own business. With the new age of printing technology pushing me out of my chosen career, I decided to go back to the beginning and learn printing the way it was done 500 years ago. I bought a 1950s Heidelberg Windmill press, a photopolymer platemaker, and joined groups dedicated to preserving the art of letterpress. (Thanks Ottawa Press Gang!) With a few years of practice under my belt I started printing commercially in 2008 and the business has continued to grow year over year.While the majority of our business is individuals looking for custom work such as wedding invitations and business cards, we do also provide trade printing to graphic designers and stationery companies.
