I managed a team of five permanent staff to ensure the assessment and all-round product delivery of a portfolio of GCSE, A-level and other qualifications in ICT, Computer Science and Psychology. Specific duties and achievements included:• Implementation of new market-leading qualifications; ensuring the business was prepared for any challenges and customers were supported to run qualifications successfully• Development of new qualifications, ensuring they met customer needs, satisfied regulatory conditions, used sound assessment methodologies and were operationally deliverable; collaborated across functions to utilise knowledge from across the business; negotiating solutions• Using project planning methodologies to ensure the successful delivery of accurate, on-time results for candidates; overall responsibility for assessment of qualifications for over 100,000 candidates a year• Ensuring the accuracy of marking; working in a regulated context to high quality standards; carrying out complex analyses of data to ensure the maintenance of standards over time• Recruiting, training and managing teams including managing 200+ examiners, offering guidance and managing performance issues• Overall responsibility for production of error-free and fit-for-purpose question papers, onscreen tests and briefs• Second line customer support, giving expert advice to teachers and schools; responsibility formaintaining webpages and communications.

I managed the assessment of a variety of national and international qualifications in subjects including Mathematics and Design & Technology. Specific duties and achievements included:• Ensuring fair and robust assessment materials are produced according to regulatory requirements and providing assessment expertise to colleagues and senior examiners• Working extensively with colleagues across the business to implement a new system for processing scripts• Quickly responding to and resolving all customer queries• Working within a team and managing a Coordinator• Adopting new initiatives and technology to reduce costs and improve assessment processes• Supporting the implementation of new GCSE 2009 qualifications• Being a trusted and efficient point of contact for examiners and colleagues• Mentoring new colleagues.

This role involved working to a tight schedule, performing a wide array of tasks to fully support the delivery of examination results. It was a customer facing role with a great deal of contact with centres and examiners, dealing with subject specific queries for a variety of subjects. I was involved in the development of a ‘mentoring’ system for new starters.

Working in a variety of temporary roles that required a broad range of office skills, including the ability to work under pressure and flexibility. I ensured the smooth running of launch events for new qualifications and other teacher training events.
