I am a very experienced web developer and engineer who chooses to work remotely on a flexible schedule.TLDR; Decades of web development experience including financial services. I have worked as a web developer on platforms for online events and real estate to being a global technical lead on multi-billion dollar share trading platforms and mortgage sourcing systems.Being a break from the "IT geek" stereotype, I am a great communicator and motivator of people. My enthusiasm for technology is catching and I enjoy passing on the skills and experience I have acquired over the years of being a web developer. I quickly become a valued member of any software team and become an insightful and helpful resource. My leadership style is defined by setting a good example and being a good friend.I started programming in my youth, I wrote my first commercial database driven website for managing lettings at the age of 17 and I installed and managed my first set of web & database servers by the time I was 20. I am energised by learning new technologies and always look forward to fresh, exciting challenges. I pick up new technology and techniques very quickly.I politely introduced Angular to Iress while I was in the role of web developer. I wrote a proof of concept application to show the architecture team what we could achieve with a relatively small group of inexperienced developers. I then trained and lead a team to write a major part of a solution that is now in use within 2 major UK banks. This lead to my rapid career progression through Team Lead, Technical Specialist and finally Technical Lead. I regularly travelled to different teams across the UK to introduce and lead Iress's new choices of tech stacks in the UI/UX space. I was a valuable asset to both Product Owners and Team leads.I was recently awarded “Most complete” in the 24 hour global hackathon that Iress hosts annually. As a front end developer, it frustrates me how complex accessibility testing is for both developers and testers. I lead a team that wrote a nodejs module that uses industry standard tools to report errors to users during the end-to-end testing phase of development. The results of the test are then able to pass or fail builds in our continuous delivery pipeline. We are hoping we may be able to open source this tool in future.
Listed skills include Microsoft Sql Server, Web Development, Asp.Net, .Net, and 20 others.
