Audacious Mobile was an innovative new venture backed by Manx Telecom and Goshawk Communications. Following successful clinical trials on the Isle of Man, Audacious Mobile launched in August 19 delivering the UK’s first ever mobile proposition to provide an enhanced and customised audio experience, specifically aimed at people with hearing loss.Responsible for all aspects of Technology and Operations. Successfully stood up an MVNO from an empty office space to full commercial launch in just 6 months.

Acquired in 2011, Talkmobile is Vodafone’s second brand offering stripped down pre-pay plus simple handset and SIM only pay monthly services to over ½ a million value conscious customers.Responsible for all aspects of Technology, Delivery and Operations.

As part of the UK CIO’s leadership team, achievements included:• Quality Management - Through the introduction of proactive and preventative process changes based off lessons learnt and best practice, I transformed the Quality Management team into a collaborative change and Assurance function.• Stabilisation, operation and optimisation of the Vodafone Integration and Testing Service – By the introduction of rigorous controls, automation and a service based methodology I transformed the UK’s IT testing to achieve significant cost reduction and operational efficiencies which lead to being awarded TMMi level 4 accreditation in June 2012. • Introduced a Release based methodology where all IT delivery was consolidated into monthly releases reducing the number of supplier deliveries, test environments required, testing effort as well as the number of Production deployments and their related outages.• Successfully recovered a project to Integrate, Test and Deliver the new eShop and eCare elements of a one of the biggest IT transformations in the industry (NewCo) which enabled the first release to go live on schedule. • As the UK SPOC I lead the transition planning of IT Application Testing and Application Operations to a new offshore shared service centre. Based on my performance I became recognised as Testing Subject Matter Expert advising other Vodafone Group OpCos in their testing and operational transition planning.

Successfully delivered an 18 month £10M programme with multiple deliveries, working with 16 suppliers and over 100 Vodafone employees across Technology to enable the major re-launch of Vodafone PrePay.

Vodafone is one of the biggest global telecommunication providers operating in more than 30 countries with over 400 million customers.Successfully recovered a failing £22M 5yr programme to deliver:• Bill Composition and Paper Presentment Solution – by dramatically rationalising and simplifying bill formats printing costs were reduced by over 40% and postage costs by over 75%• Online Billing & Archiving solution – a new website (Vodafone Bill Centre) with 80+ pages of static and dynamic content enabling paperless billing and self-care to be launched across Vodafone UK.• Online Analytics – leading edge online analytics & self-service reporting solution for Consumer and SME.

Part of the Virgin Media Group, Virgin Mobile, was the UK's leading Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) providing a range of pre-paid, contract and value add mobile services.Recruited to work within Programme Delivery department of the Business Change function to improve the way software releases were implemented through the use of Project and Programme Management best practice, ensuring all releases were planned, managed and successfully delivered in a controlled and effective manner; this included Virgin Mobile's multi-award winning website.Remit extended to additionally manage the Portfolio Management Office which, along with Project Assurance, administration and support functions, provided consultancy and management reporting.

Promoted to Programme Manager to run a series of customer focused and product based programmes. These including the delivery of a new products to market, managing a portfolio of projects in the UK, offshore and with 3rd party suppliers c.60 staff and c.€ 6M. Other programmes were delivered including a portfolio of software delivery projects for 9 European operators from bid production and product marketing activities through implementation and delivery on to operational reviews, maintenance and support activities.

LogicaCMG Mobile Payments offerd a complete portfolio of modular, scaleable payment systems to 41 global customers on the mobile operator market. Initially employed as a Project Manager, within the Product Management function, to manage major product releases with c. 70 FTE's and budgets of c. € 9M. Successfully delivered numerous software development projects, in particular those of high profile and high risk. Frequently assigned as ‘trouble-shooter’ to initiate recovery projects.

World Telecom provided a range of high quality value add services from Global Calling Cards, Indirect Access and Worldwide Internet Access to non-geographic business and personal numbering services.Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the Operations Board I was recruited to set up the Billing Operations department and manage the Fraud Management and Collections departments (c.30 staff). This required the recruitment and training of all Billing departmental staff as well as the creation and roll out of all operational and business processes.

AT&T Corporation’s UK subsidiary provided an extensive product and service portfolio from direct and indirect Internet access; domestic telephony services to small, medium and large corporate customers; software defined network services and carrier and reseller services to such data service offerings as frame relay, ATM and IP.Employed as Implementation Manager to project manage system upgrades from 3rd party Mediation and Billing applications to locally developed (in-house) systems. As well as partial responsibility for the Data Centre resources, I was given the additional responsibility to manage the Application Support department.

Videotron was Canada's second largest cable television operator, the UK subsidiary provided cable TV and fix line telephony services to around 500,000 homes in London area and Southampton. In May 1997, Mercury Communications was merged with 3 cable operators in the UK (Videotron, Nynex, and Bell Cablemedia) and re-launched as Cable & Wireless Communications.Responsible for B2C and B2B call rating as well all aspects of Interconnect / Carrier Billing. During the merger completed the implementation of a major, highly complex tariff migration project ahead of sister divisions, considerably under budget and played a key role in the migration and convergence of several billing systems across the group. Managed Operations in the former Bell Cablemedia when key staff were lost.
