    Shelf Drilling is a start-up company born from a carve out transaction from Transocean and currently the worlds largest contractor of jack-up drilling rigs.Shelf Drilling has provided what is by far my biggest challenge to date. As IT Director for Shelf Drilling and starting with a blank sheet, I lead a highly effective team defining the strategy and deploying IT infrastructure and services across 12 global offices and 34 offshore drilling units within a very aggressive timeline.Working from our Dubai office, we successfully completed the design, build and deployment within an 18 month time-frame, meeting all of the business and sponsor objectives. Using a hybrid model, leveraging Cloud, hosted and on-premise solutions where appropriate, we were able to deploy and scale quickly while still being able to operate with a small team and with the minimum of investment in owned infrastructure.
