I jumped at the opportunity to give back to fellow accounting students. During a particular tutoring session I am paired with 4-6 students. These sessions typically include a review of the newly learned accounting concepts. The concepts are then reiterated and delivered in a personal and relatable manner. This has proven to engage the students which has resulted in higher on average test scores for my students. In doing so I also attempted to break down concepts, to simply solutions while also conveying how the concepts were reflected in the financial statements, overall creating a more well-rounded accounting student.
