Assistant Crew LeaderUniversity Of Oregon May 2011 - Sep 2013Eugene, Or, UsFor three summers I worked through the University of Oregon Housing Department. While working within small teams I collaborated in completing the task of repainting the dorms every summer. I returned each summer and was promoted to assistant crew leader at the beginning of June 2013. This was great experience with regards to teamwork, and leadership skills. I collaborated with other employees numerous times to brainstorm concrete steps for completing projects in an efficient manner. I also demonstrated my strong interpersonal skills, as communication was crucial in keeping all crew members on the same page. Often I would fulfill the duties of the assistant crew leader during absences, and eventually was promoted to the position. In doing so, I showed the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse work team. As I gained more experience I was often sent to work autonomously on projects. I was selected because I demonstrated the ability to maintain an effective work pace, problem-solving the best ways to accomplish deadlines efficiently. -

Accounting 211 TutorBeta Alpha Psi Jan 2013 - Jun 2013Tutoring as volunteer experience through Beta Alpha Psi at the University of Oregon. I jumped at the opportunity to give back to fellow accounting students. During a particular tutoring session I am paired with 4-6 students. These sessions typically include a review of the newly learned accounting concepts. The concepts are then reiterated and delivered in a personal and relatable manner. This has proven to engage the students which has resulted in higher on average test scores for my students. In doing so I also attempted to break down concepts, to simply solutions while also conveying how the concepts were reflected in the financial statements, overall creating a more well-rounded accounting student.
