Ian Duforet is a Technical Designer II at Cloud Imperium Games at Cloud Imperium Games. Colleagues describe him as "Ian had the misfortune of a chaotic hiring process due to Covid and Visas but this didn't stop him from making the best impression he could. He reached out to me on LinkedIn after being hired and we were able to connect instantly. I could tell he was really eager to do his best and prepare for his first day. Ian also made the effort to visit the office months before he was able to start so we could all meet him. He's was extremely friendly and brimming with confidence. As I was the most experienced designer on the team and had already taught other juniors previously, I took Ian under my wing as his mentor. On his first day, it was clear that Howest had done an excellent job of preparing him with the skills and mindset needed to get on with the job. He was confident to demonstrate his problem solving abilities, particularly when we came to coding. It didn't take long for Ian to start becoming autonomous. He is an excellent problem solver with advanced coding (C++) and Visual Scripting skills. This allowed him to go above and beyond for finding solutions to problems. I'm very proud of how Ian has grown in this role. He has flourished and deserves the quick promotion he got to Tech Designer II during my tenure at CiG. I'm really honoured to have been a part of the start of Ian's career and I know we'll see great things."
