In addition to the management, I have led (jointly and solely) projects for the launch of two Discretionary Portfolio Management services, two ranges of four risk rated Multi-Asset funds (Core and Passive) and a UK focused listed property securities fund.My last role at Mattioli Woods provided a platform for me to develop skills and gain experience in people management, coaching/mentoring, strategic planning, project/change management, acquisition due diligence and integration of acquired business.I believe that a team based approach with the freedom to question/challenge any decisions or proposals is fundamental for a successful investment team. You should be humble enough to know that you don’t have the right answer for everything. It’s important to listen and acknowledge that you never stop learning.In terms of investment philosophy, I strongly believe in a long term strategic approach to investing but recognise, with online and social media, that it is often difficult to ignore the short term noise. I would clarify that a long term approach does not mean a "buy and forget" policy, as all decisions should be regularly reviewed in the light of new information or data trends (not just one data point). Communication becomes a vital element of a long term approach as investors need to appreciate and accept the potential for short term underperformance or volatility on their investment journey.My investment universe and expertise is primarily in collective investment schemes and listed property instruments where I believe I can demonstrate strengths in analysis. I firmly believe in the importance of strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
