Launched at Tiree Music Festival 2017, Tyree Gin was initially produced by Thames Distillers Ltd in London. Having the gin produced elsewhere but using local ingredients helped fund the renovation of an industrial shed in West Hynish in the southwest of the island and in February 2019, after a break of 217 years, Tiree was once again home to an operational distillery.'The Cairnsmuir', is a 19-Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky named after an iron-screw steamer that ran aground off Hough on the Isle of Tiree in 1885.The Cairnsmuir was carrying a 100-ton cargo of spirits and beer when she ran aground, much of which washed up on the island’s shores and was hidden (or consumed) before the gàidsearan (excisemen) could act. This bottling was released on the 23rd May 2016 at A' Bhuain, the Tiree Homecoming and both editions sold out within the week.'TMF 10' is an exclusive bottling to celebrate the 10th Tiree Music Festival in July 2019. Limited to less than 400 bottles and bottled at 43%, this Speyside Single Malt was put into the cask around the same time that the plans for the first ever TMF were starting to take shape. Like the festival it was named after, the dram has spent the last decade maturing and was released at the 10th Tiree Music Festival in July 2019. The festival has flourished from a capacity crowd of 600 in 2010 to an event which welcomes more than 2000 people each year – three times the population of Tiree. Show less
