With well over a decade of addiction treatment experience as a clinician and director, I have demonstrated success addressing complex clinical issues and building quality programs. In 2016, I was a founding member of Alana Recovery, which eventually grew to the largest outpatient program in the Atlanta area. In February 2021, I joined Birmingham Recovery Center to establish a new program in Alabama that is based on the understanding that addiction is a disorder of the brain and addicted people deserve the same compassion and support that is provided to those with other mental health disorders. BRC is committed to the highest level of client care and ethical business practices while fostering an environment that is supportive of our staff and develops their professional skills. I have seen people enter treatment who seem hopeless, only to witness them make fundamental changes that lead to happy and productive lives. I believe anyone is capable of such changes regardless of age, gender, or addiction history. But supporting someone in stopping substance use is not a sufficient goal alone, so I am always grounded by one basic principle: How can I help people have better lives?
