A jack of all trades - I always find myself hired in one role and taking on tasks in other departments. Diversity is the spice of life and I've always relished an opportunity in a new discipline or role. Currently working in the Wine & Tourism industry, but holding positions serving beautiful cocktails in high-end hotel restaurants, sake-bombs and burgers in Japanese dive bars in snow villages, and developing/delivering curriculum for at-risk youth in Adelaide high schools. You could say I have worn a few different hats, but often I would dress pretty similar in all of these environments.A university degree: It's what I was told I would need. I believed them enough to finish my degree in Education/Arts and was offered Honours for both Education and Sociology. Throughout this time I worked in bars in Adelaide CBD and as a peer educator at Marion Youth as part of the 'RV: No Way!' programme. After I finished my bachelor degree, I made the shift to the public education system. With my sociological intrigue still strong, I felt compelled to relief teaching stints at schools within predominantly low-socioeconomic areas of Adelaide. At the Community Learning Centre (CLC), I was able to explore passions - both old and new - and turn them into subjects. I still count myself lucky to be granted this freedom in the public school system.By this stage, I had an overwhelming desire to explore. Working in the alternate education system exposed me to think about working and living outside of the status-quo. I traveled the West coast of the USA in a van for three months, then took a position in an Australian ski-field in 2016. This spiralled into back-to-back winters until 2018 and taking on roles that pushed me into creating and collaborating, helping open and close multiple venues in four-month time frames. My new passion is wine. I've poured my energy into exploring McLaren Vale - listening and learning as much as I can. I'm ready to share it with you all.
