The key is simple practical systems, well trained staff and maintaining controls Before setting up Transport Management Solutions I worked in the transport and distribution industry for 30 years:Having achieved a degree majoring in Transport, Economics and Employment Law, I made the decision to gain practical experience by taking my Class 1 HGV and working for a short period as a driver.I worked in the industry from Traffic Supervisor, Transport Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager and Director.The practical skills acquired, and my time driving a HGV, have been highly beneficial throughout my career and continue to be so today.I have first-hand experience with the DVSA and Traffic Commissioners expect having acted as an expert witness at Public Inquiries. The experience has given me the knowledge to prepare Operators who are facing PI by identifying and correcting issues prior to attendance at the inquiry. In a number of cases our support has been recognised as the Traffic Commissioner has made our ongoing mentoring and audits a condition of their licence.
