At Northwestern Mutual, I worked on the Data Ops as well as the Features team. I was responsible for helping onboard teams around NM onto Unified Data Platform (UDP), a delta lake infrastructure utilizing AWS, DBeaver, Databricks, Dagster, Privacera, and on-prem built API collections in Postman. This required an in-depth understanding of all features of the platform and those that were being added to it by various teams in the org. Not only did I create and provide user-facing documentation on these features, I also trained and performed demos for the teams I was onboarding onto UDP. This role required outstanding project management skills, technical knowledge, and people skills to succeed at.I customized the privacy layer of UDP via Privacera, used Terraform in Gitlab repos to alter customers' Databricks clusters, and crafted customer-specific solutions to work around security limitations of the platform. I personally crafted the PowerBI-hosted UDP metrics dashboard using PySpark inside of Python Databricks notebooks; this captured system metrics on hundreds of databases inside the deltalake and displayed them in an easy-to-read format for leadership.

At Enverus, we used a JIRA Kanban board to delegate projects out. My main role was integrating energy datasets into our in-house application from a variety of different sources (email, API, FTP, web scrape, etc.). I automated the data pulls using Windows Batch Scripting, funneled the downloaded data through SSIS to transform it, loaded it in a relational database schema that I crafted in SQL Server, and connected my database to the variety of meta databases needed to ingest data into MarketView (our client-facing application). I learned a lot about global stock market data, particularly daily close, real-time, futures, and options datasets.I also actively reviewed my colleagues' code in GitHub and troubleshooted legacy code when needed. We operated on a rotating on-call support shift; one person was the first line of defense if a database broke down, preventing customers from viewing the most up to date data. This involved monitoring an SSRS dashboard/Microsoft Teams channels and quickly diagnosing/fixing issues upon alert of SQL Agent job failures.I was exposed to a variety of other software including Docker, Nomad, S3, Grafana, Postman, Fiddler, & Jenkins CodeBuild.

At Zywave, I strengthened my technical skills in ETL, specifically IBM Datastage and SSIS, SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel. My role required superb time management and organizational skills due to of the influx of data-centric products the company acquired during my tenure there. At any given time, I could handle over 100 projects across 5-6 products in the product suite; my responsibility with the projects included everything from ordering necessary data/documents to communicating with partners and other entities involved in the project's completion. I consistently hopped on phone calls to help partners extract client data from their account management systems, help build SQL/HR/Commission reports, or discuss the results of their health claims data projects. The health data projects made up a decent portion of my responsibilities at Zywave. After the data ordering, legal document retrieval, and ETL work were completed, I would analyze the datasets in IBM Cognos or through basic/custom reports that the in-house software issued out. I wrote observations based on my findings and crafted recommendations for partners on how to reduce the cost of their client's health plans.During my time at Zywave, I also took the initiative to incorporate Python automations into workflows, a technology not previously used on the team. With the help of my manager I gained approval from the IT department to create pyinstaller executables that eliminated several tedious processes off of the data services team. Some of the Python libraries I used were selenium, pandas, os, pymssql, etc.

I utilized my time management skills in order to prepare and serve food to over 70 in-house residents. I also supervised and instructed new waiters on nightly dinner procedures, location of important supplies, and operation of machinery. With this knowledge, my coworkers and I facilitated dinner duties such as setting up tables, the hot food buffet, and the salad bar as well as cleaning the dishes, kitchen, and dining room.

I worked in an extremely fast-paced environment, waiting over 10 tables at any given time. I executed dynamic duties in collaboration with my coworkers to ensure the guests received the best possible service.

I kept a watchful eye on swimmers to ensure they were behaving in a safe manner, performed first aid on injured patrons, responded to emergencies in an efficient and timely manner, and maintained the facility's cleanliness.

I refined my communication skills by networking with dozens of club members and Evans Scholarship donors. During my senior year of high school, I applied for and was awarded the Chick Evans Scholarship based on leadership, academics, and a strong caddie record spanning over 150 rounds of golf.
