The Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) is a Public Investment Fund company established to develop, own, operate and finance various activities across all waste types in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through its achievements, SIRC will help meet and exceed the objectives of the vision 2030 and support the success of various initiatives identified by the revised National Regulatory Framework.

Provenance Consulting is my own business set up to provide commercial services to both public and private sector organisations. Services provided include strategic business planning and development, commercial assessment of specific business opportunities, project management, interim business resource provision, project funding opportunities, public sector procurement and bid direction and management.

KSP Renewables is a company specialising in the development of merchant energy from waste (EfW) plants in the UK focusing on using refuse derived fuel (RDF) from commercial and industrial waste sources. In a predominantly post-subsidy world we concentrated on locations where there was good potential for providing private wire electricity and heat with the balance of remaining electricity exported to the grid. We worked with a number of experienced investors, EPC and O&M providers, fuel suppliers, energy off-takers, specialist consultants and other partners to bring the necessary skills together to take projects to financial close.

The Good Loaf is an artisan bakery and café with a social purpose. As a social business it aims to provide real employment opportunities to vulnerable local women to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment and offending. By working through our structured work placements female offenders gain practical skills and experience in a real work environment.My role was to support the operational team who manage the day-to-day running of the business providing strategic and commercial advice and recommendations as well as being an arms-length critical friend to the chief executive and the wider board.

EQTEC plc has a proprietary gasification technology used in industrial size power plants to convert many fuel types including biomass and Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) into a synthesis gas (syngas) which can then be used in a number of applications including to generate electricity and heat.

Covanta is a US-owned company specialising in the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of energy from waste (EfW) facilities. During this time Covanta developed a UK presence to bid for long term waste management contracts from local authorities and develop EfW facilities on the back of this.Originally hired as a Project Director to manage a portfolio of Covanta’s PFI/PPP procurement bids, I rose to the position of Director of Commercial Services and subsequently led on the development and implementation of the fuel/waste strategy plans for its EfW projects. I was also the UK lead on securing (through M&A, Joint Venture arrangements) complementary waste infrastructure including road and rail served transfer stations and materials recycling/pre-treatment facilities for fuel production.

I project managed bids in the waste PFI/PPP arena. I was also responsible for a range of non-PFI/PPP tendering activities and was the lead client relationship manager for a large number of local authorities, materials reprocessors, and other organisations in the environmental services sector.

I managed a number of waste disposal and recycling facilities in the south west of England.

I managed a number of waste disposal sites, household waste recycling centres and bulk recycling facilities in Shropshire.

I carried out a number of different roles during my time at Veolia, primarily in relation to the technical and operational management of a number of co-disposal (including hazardous) landfill facilities.
