I am passionate about the environment and the effects our current energy systems puts on our environment. I want to use my engineering skills to better the world's energy supply, assist in the creation of sustainable urban mobility, and focus on processes to make the world cleaner home. With co-ops and volunteer opportunity, I have close to 3 years of full-time work experience in a range of mechanical design fields including wind energy, robotics, and electric vehicles. This depth and variety make me a unique and strong candidate with the ability to work in fast paced environments and step in and out disciplines to solve challenging problems. Some of my successes include: - Initiated development of a low-cost production electric car in Costa Rica. Responsible for the designing power system. Transitioned project into an electric tricycle for personal transportation. - Designed and fabricated a robotic rover to act as a mobile platform for tele-operated, humanoid, robotic arms. Comprised of material and hardware selection, part fabrication, and system testing. The rover is a complex system consisting of multiple subsystems working in unison. - Extensive experience in SolidWorks to create final assemblies and part drawings in GD&T for robotics. Utilized 3D printing to design and create proof of concept before final manufacturing. - Designed the mechanical structure and packaging of a 12-DOF anthropomorphic intrinsically actuated robotic hand. Rapid prototyping utilized 3D printing to test multiple iterations against mechanical design and material properties.
