We provide outpatient mental health treatment and integrated social services for thousands of people each year, of all backgrounds and cultures. In particular, we care for underserved individuals with lower and moderate incomes, limited care access, and serious mental illness. We open our doors to every Brookline resident–and, in some cases, those in neighboring communities–serving individuals and families facing adverse life circumstances or struggling with mental health issues, even with severe conditions or limited ability to pay.Our community mental health care approachWith our team of nearly 100 clinicians, staff in every Brookline public school, and partnerships with healthcare providers and public agencies, The Brookline Center considers mental health within the context of contributing social, economic and other factors. Launched and developed ambulatory behavioral health multi-site practice, with annual revenue of approximately $5 million. Oversee day to day operations and strategic planning, with focus on developing new programs designed to fill identified marketplace gaps. Business currently has 4 locations and more than 80 employees throughout the state of Rhode Island.

Served as part of HealthSource RI’s (Rhode Island’s Health Benefits Exchange) senior management team responsible for overseeing marketing and public relations activities, government and community relations, public outreach, and overall strategy. Primary public spokesperson tasked with promoting HealthSource’s plans and objectives to media and the public.

Responsible for all aspects of the business unit that guided strategy, new business development, government and media relations, marketing, and fundraising. Responsible for management and oversight of The Providence Center School (a 70-student special education school for children with serious behavioral issues), the Anchor Learning Academy, and TPC’s social venture unit. Supervised eight direct reports, and led departments that generated approximately 25% of the agency’s annual revenue.

Responsible for new business development, federal and state grants, and government and media relations for one of Rhode Island’s largest community behavioral health providers. Served as chief administrator for The Providence Center School and ProMail (a social enterprise venture of The Providence Center).

Established a political and public relations firm in Providence, Rhode Island specializing in press relations, communications, and organizational development for campaigns, non-profits, and corporations.

Ran primary and general election efforts in nationally targeted U.S. Senate campaign. Oversaw all aspects of campaign operations including field and Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts; earned and paid media strategy; fundraising; budget; and political operations. Served as campaign’s chief spokesperson, represented U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee on statewide radio and television, and at meetings throughout the state. Managed campaign staff, and served as liaison with media, GOTV, and general campaign consultants.

Oversaw daily policy and management activities for 3,000-person agency with a $300 million annual budget. Served as advisor to the Commissioner with final responsibility for all decisions in her absence. Coordinated public relations and legislative strategy for the Department. Interacted with federal agencies, state executive branch departments, the legislature, and advocacy groups.
