I always thought my dream was to be a full-time performer in the percussive arts, developing new rudiments and engaging audiences worldwide. I leaned towards client consultations and choreographing custom show pieces, eventually leading different teams in international shows for the better part of 10 years. Subsequently, I gravitated towards project and events management in music and sports, and after 5 years, I desired for more and hoped to learn something different.The issues of sustainability struck me when I first watched Before the Flood because, 1) who could resist DiCaprio, and 2) it was a pretty great summary of the global challenges that we were facing (then). This led to a few evenings of article and research readings, alongside sessions of binge watching similar documentaries, before I decided to get a formal education on sustainability.With the Masters of Environment and Sustainability, I learned about the value of behavioural insights and its effects on sustainability. This inspired me to write my first research thesis, "Nudging in Supermarkets to Decrease Plastic Bag Use Among Customers: A Framework for Change," which is now published in a peer-reviewed publication. Since then, my passion for sustainability grew, and I’m now deeply engaged in pivoting current transport behaviours towards more sustainable modes with Bicycle Network.
