Merchandise Planning & Allocation Intern
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
As the MP&A Intern, I had the opportunity to work with multiple internal associates including demand planners, financial planners, and senior leadership, as well as meet with external vendors including Nestle, Mars, Blue Buffalo, and more. My main project was the creation of a new template for a vendor performance dashboard which featured me attending over 100 touch bases with various different parties. I also had to quickly learn a new system, MicroStrategy, where I created the dashboard and then built extra dynamic abilities through advanced Microsoft Excel skills. The dashboard I created was implemented into the full business, replacing their 7-year-old previous system, which I had the opportunity to teach how to use what I had created throughout the business. I remained persistent in my desire to grow and undertook a second project on the financial planning side where I used various analytical and technical skills to accurately forecast projected sales for our Flea & Tick department. Highlights include:- Collaborated with demand planners and accredited vendors such as Nestle, Mars, and more, to create a performance dashboard that monitors over $6 billion worth of sales on a per-vendor basis- Accurately forecasted $147 million in projected sales for the Flea & Tick department through proficiency and application of Microsoft Excel and MicroStrategy.- Managed multiple high-impact projects in a fast, dynamic environment with utmost precision-Learned from over 60 internal 1 on 1 meetings including demand planners, financial planners, buyers, and various levels of leadership from manager up to SVP-Demonstrated data storytelling through the final presentation of project growth to over 100 associates
