I joined the firm in 2001 and have more than 30 years’ pension experience in providing advice to trustees, corporates and Insolvency Practitioners in the following areas:Insolvency and Restructuring – I provide advice to Insolvency Practitioners on all aspects of insolvency on the pensions and other employee benefits of companies, such as PPF entry, TUPE transfers and scheme wind-up.VAT - As part of a multi-discipline team I provide advice to the trustees of schemes on how VAT on costs may be recovered, where the scheme's sponsor is insolvent.De-Risking – I provide advice to the trustees and sponsors of final salary schemes on all aspects of de-risking, from scheme benefit analysis and amendment, to buy-out. Recent projects include VAT recovery for several household name pension funds, a complex group restructuring with 16 pension schemes, a defined benefit scheme buy-out and a de-risking programme prior to buy-out and subsequent disposal. I work closely with our wider pensions team including actuarial, scheme audit, employer covenant, VAT advisory, PPF levy advisory, trustee training and employee benefit advisory.
