I'm a music graduate who fell into tech writing, reviewing, and video creation and ended up being fairly decent at it. I now create a weekly YouTube show for Electromaker where I waffle a bit about Maker culture, cool projects, and microcontrollers/single-board computers. I also contribute editorial material and run the social media at Electromaker.io.I'm an active member of the MakeUseOf review team, and still occasionally contribute editorial content when I have time.I am also a voice-over actor for Mouser's online Featured Application Spotlight video series and recently hosted the 2022 NXP Cup autonomous vehicles final at the NXP building in Hamburg. While all this is lovely, and I'm very happy to work the way I do, I am happiest when working on some wild idea - like polyphonic microtonal mechanical synthesizers, or electric bagpipes... Or running. I did have a quite predictable running related midlife crisis thatis ongoing and only getting worse by the day.I once coined the phrase Freelance Idiot for what I do, and this is still true.
