McCluskey's independent work producing, writing, shooting, directing, and editing has led to more than two-dozen national awards and featured in prestigious film festivals across the world.McCluskey discovered documentary film by accident. While in Journalism school, he stumbled into a video production classroom and was asked to pitch a film idea on the spot. That idea turned into his first film "Echo of Water Against Rocks: Remembering Celilo Falls," which was featured in festivals, cultural centers, and aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB). After two years writing, producing, and directing documentary projects for OPB, McCluskey founded the non-profit NW Documentary where he now teaches and produces.Dedicated to honoring the stories of history, culture, and heritage, McCluskey's work utilizes today's digital technology while borrowing from the traditions of photography, literary non-fiction, and filmmaking.Specialties: • Directing, writing, shooting, editing, and producing Award-winning productions at national/international level • Interviewing and information gathering for national productions and publications• Managing all logistics of productions and supervising project staff and contractors• Administration of 501c3 Non-profit and building community partnerships
