Hi, I'm Ian McDonald Wood. Welcome to my profile. Some people see me as a reformed accountant, having qualified with a top London firm, before globetrotting with a major US insurance company. An MBA back in the UK encouraged me to start and later sell on profitably a publishing and conference company. This led to the world of strategy consulting, advising the financial services and sector on strategy implementation and innovation. A collaborative knowledge-developing R&D Programme spanning 5 years in the late 1990s, involving more than 30 blue-chip companies, was a notable success, leading to my first foray as an author.Today, I enable listed companies to develop and communicate more effectively the strategy content in their corporate reporting. Our techniques are leading edge, authoritative and validated though our now 10-year research project. FutureValue's mission is to help make the market value of listed companies a less risky and more certain proposition as a direct consequence of improving the quality of communicated strategic thinking and management. On a personal note, I am married with two adult sons of whom I am very proud and five golden retrievers. You might find me surfing occasionally (given the occasion), enjoying rugby (as a spectator) and looking forward to my next ski holiday (the chance would be a fine thing). I speak a couple of other languages. I also enjoy writing, publishing my first book on successful business in the digital era now more than a decade ago. This first effort sold over 10,000 copies and appeared even in Mandarin!
