Along with those activities and programs described under Associate Planner, I continue to lead a community development and infrastructure improvement program in one town, manage the organization's Green Communities assistance program, and manage our organization's Complete Streets planning program.

As an associate planner in the Regional Collaboration and Community Planning division, I primarily worked on projects under the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Green Communities program, and the Commonwealth's Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program. I assisted and managed infrastructure planning and implementation projects, worked with a partner agency on housing rehabilitation projects, managed energy reduction planning and projects, and assisted in developing climate resiliency plans with proposed projects on behalf of many of the 40 towns within the Central Massachusetts region. Additional work included collaboration between local municipalities and the state on COVID public health responses, assisted a town in developing a Complete Streets policy and prioritization plan, and partnered with a state program to provide supplemental planning training to key town and city officials in the region.

As Woonsocket’s City Planner, I acted as the administrative officer of the city’s Planning Board and was responsible for maintaining the city’s Comprehensive Plan, interpreting, analyzing, and offering recommendations on subdivision and design review applications, and submitting recommendations to the board on proposed changes to the city’s zoning ordinance. I was responsible for creating and submitting a yearly Capital Improvement Plan to the City Council on behalf of the Planning Board. Outside of my role as the administrative officer, I lead and assisted with short and long term development projects throughout the city and acted as a city representative in the Woonsocket Health Equity Zone Steering Committee and Food Access Sub Committee.

I helped with the major projects team coordinate and prepare multiple planning applications for a major rail infrastructure, depot development, and country park project in the district. My duties included compiling, analyzing, and preparing community, key interest groups, and statutory consultation responses for final committee delegation reports. Additional report preparation and research tasks were carried out as required. I also processed household planning applications, evaluated them against national local regulations, and made a final recommendation. My duties here included conducting site visits, communicating with applications and agents, and writing concise and robust decision reports.

I designed maintenance of traffic, traffic control/detour, and final signing and pavement marking plans on local streets and interstate for a major development project in downtown Washington DC. I also created bike lane and traffic calming plans for streets in the City of Alexandria with a variety of traffic volumes from conceptual drawings to final 100% plans. Finally, I assisted in the design of final and temporary traffic plans for a Bus Rapid Transit system in the city of Richmond, Virginia.
