This is a two-part position; first, through December 2009, I worked with the center on developing their materials for the study of the African language Yoruba (primarily, recording of native speakers and organization of materials). Continuing from then, I work as the server administrator for their web presence, ensuring the server is kept up-to-date and working.
My Google Summer of Code project for MusicBrainz was recreating and improving their database growth visualization tools and other statistics, and integrating these tools with MusicBrainz Server. I got carried away and quickly started doing other assorted programming work for the organization.
As part of the Google Summer of Code program, I worked for StatusNet to create "StatusNet-Music," a plugin emulating the features of last.fm. In the process, I helped the lead programmers to refine and improve the plugin system more generally.

My main work so far: setting up a scanning laptop using nessus, setting up security cameras using the motion software package on Linux; in a later related position, I worked on translating descriptive titles for images of Mars, in the interest of internationalizing the website for the HiRISE project.
