After graduating, my first job was a Manufacturing Engineering graduate at Perkins Engines, gaining experience in:- Intelligent tooling development- Continuous improvement- 6-sigma- Daily assembly line support- Team lead, Crankshaft machining facility.- Design development role- DFMEAAfter completung the graduate scheme, I worked as a Manufacturing Project Engineer, upgrading assembly plant and facilities.In 2011, I joined Triumph Motorcycles. my initial project was the original 2012 Tiger Explorer, at the later stages of its development, in a test and development role, managing road mileage accumulation.In 2012, I joined a team developing a low capacity motorcycle for the Asian market, responsible for wheel concept design and braking systems. This project never made production, but I learned invaluable lessons in low cost, high volume manufacturing processes.In 2014, I moved to the Bonneville Bobber model where I had responsibility for:- Rear wheel & brake design- Swingarm mounted rear mudguard & ancillaries.In 2016, I was promoted to Project Engineer, increasing my responsibilities to:- Manage junior team member’s workloads- Approve prototype designs- Attending quality and procurement reviews, and design change meetingsIn 2017, I began working on the concept stage of 2021 SPEED TRIPLE, with later responsibility for brakes, suspension, cast aluminium wheels and swingarm, and managing a small sub team. I also worked as Chassis Liaison with Triumph’s development dept, broadening my knowledge of motorcycle geometry and suspension development.In June 2020, with looming redundancies due to COVID, I took voluntary redundancy from Triumph.I immediately secured a role as Senior Design Engineer with Norton Motorcycles, responsible for developing and fault finding on the V4SS & V4RR models.In March 2021, I returned to Triumph Motorcycles, joining a team in the final stages of development of the 2022 Tiger 1200 motorcycle, working on a variety of components undergoing final testing and validation, while also liaising with a cross company team during a crucial time for the project.In June 2022, my role changed to include leading a small team of 5 engineers through scheming stages of the 2025 Speed Twin 900, while also having component responsibility for the main frame updates.Since late 2023, I'm working on castings & fabrications for a next gen model while continuing to mentor junior engineers.

Since re-joining Triumph, I was involved in the closing stages of the development and testing of 2022 Tiger 1200, followed by developing a new EVAP system for a 2024 model platform.Most recently, I moved onto a major update project, with component responsibility for the main frame, but also leading a small team of engineers through concept and scheming stages.This includes design and scheming reviews, drawing reviews, and design approvals, providing me the opportunity to use my experience to mentor my reports.
