Every organization on the planet is facing significant challenges and disruption. Most organizations have slothful (non-athletic) DNA and struggle to deliver customer-loving products and services. Just try ChatGPT, Claude, or Google on “What are the Top Five Challenges for Organizations?” - you will likely see something similar to this:(claude.ai) What are the Top Five Challenges for Organizations?1. Talent management and retention2. Adapting to rapid technological change3. Maintaining cybersecurity4. Navigating economic uncertainty5. Fostering innovation and agility(chatGPT) What are the Top Five Challenges for Organizations?1. Rapid Technological Change2. Talent Management3. Customer Expectations4. Operational Efficiency5. Globalization and Market CompetitionTo address these challenges and attempt to prepare for the future, many organizations have attempted some sort of “Transformation” - investing millions of dollars, with less than pleasing results. One report says that 2.3 TRILLION dollars were spent on digital transformations with 70% of the organizations stating that it failed to deliver positive results. This leaves the organization with confusion, change fatigue, and apathy. Common symptoms of the environment we create look like: taking a long time to get things done, poor quality, cutting corners, a lack of trust, customer dissatisfaction, very few opportunities to grow as an individual, lack of innovation -- ultimately resulting in poor morale, shallow engagement, and a culture you are not proud to be a part of. That hurts my heart. So what is the answer? We need to build healthy, athletic, nimble organizational capabilities to face these challenges and make speed and adaptability become part of our DNA. Change is hard. Your enterprise dying a slow death is hard too. Choose your hard. Feel free to reach out/connect and have a conversation. Keywords/Jargon I’m trying to avoid in my profile (although relevant): Lean product development.Organizational agility.Lean-agile transformations. Value Stream Optimization. Customer centric re-orgs. Scaling agility. Reducing lead times.Increasing quality.Increasing value.Promoting proactive architecture.Increasing innovation.#AllTheThings Transformation.Shortest sustainable lead time. Decentralized decision making. Alignment.Autonomy. Lean. Agile. Systems thinking. Scrum.Kanban.SAFe.DevOps. SecDevOps. BizDevOps. Scrumban. Product Development Flow.Lean Agile leadership. And the list goes on and on…
