The Journal of Open Research Software (JORS) features peer reviewed software papers describing research software with high reuse potential. We are working with a number of specialist and institutional repositories to ensure that the associated software is professionally archived, preserved, and is openly available. Equally importantly, the software and the papers will be citable, and reuse will be tracked. I am on the Editorial Borad, more to give my thoughts on the great work that those guys are doing.

At Sage we believe big data is fundamentally changing how we make sense of the world and that social science needs to play a critical role where this impacts on society. I am working in a group the aims to help the social sciences play a key role. Our vision is a world in which big data is used responsibly to improve social outcomes, and our mission is to improve social science by equipping every researcher with the skills and tools they need to work effectively with big data and new technology.My responsibility is to understand researcher needs in this area, and translate those into tools or services that Sage can create to help meet those needs.

I am responsible for the technology aspects of eLife, the new joint initiative of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Max Planck Society, and the Wellcome Trust.I am initially tasked with launching the new journal eLife that will be a platform for extending the reach and influence of new discoveries and to showcase new approaches to the presentation, use, and assessment of research. I am interested in applying web scale technologies to the process of scientific communication, and in creating a truly web only journal that can use the great tools that have emerged on the web to further the progress of science.I am also interested in hearing about new technologies that we should be considering, and getting ideas on how to best use existing technologies.

Managed the production of 4 physics journals, and 3 book series, attended conferences and developed a good working relationship with the academic community.

Managed the copyediting of Springer physics journal and manuscript output. Coordinated 40+ freelance copyeditors. Responsible for quality control, training, and introduction of new tools.
