I am currently in my first year of completing my degree in International Hospitality Management. I first became involved in catering for more than my own family at Mullartown camp and BCM conference centre. I have worked there as a volunteer for the past 4 years and filled roles from dish washer to assistant chef. These are long days on your feet planning, preparing and serving food as-well as cleaning and clearing plates for up to 100 people. I also helped to clean and reset the accommodation at Mullartown during busy seasons- summer. It’s hard work but the atmosphere amounts the volunteers makes it worthwhile. Previously, I have worked as a cleaner for Kribben Cottages in the foot of the Mourne mountains. Which comes with great satisfaction in leaving things tidy and fresh for holiday makers. As part of my course at Ulster University I am getting further experience working in a kitchen and as a front of house team member.
